How come my father is acting like this?

Spring Break is coming up soon and me and my dad were going to visit my grandparents in Florida. So I went to look up dates for the cheapest flights one night, the cheapest was tuesday to tuesday, great I said but we would have to miss 2 days of school (My dad is a teacher and the girls golf coach too.) A week later he says that he can’t miss those 2 days because of golf. He says that we can go tuesday to friday. My mom and I tell him that isn’t much of a vacation. So I say lets go sunday to saturday and he gets upset and says then you just go by yourself. I ask him whats wrong with those dates and he says I just wanted to stay home longer that’s all. I haven’t seen my grandparents since end of december and would love to see them, he hasn’t seen them either and misses his parents. It seems to me that he would rather stay home then see his parents and I don’t know why because he won’t talk to anyone.
